Smooth sailing en route to Scotland! I took the United bus from ABE Allentown to Newark, NJ. On time, no problem, plus I got to crochet a little. Didn't have to wait long in Newark. I sat next to a Scottish woman at the gate who was very nice. I was more excited just hearing her accent.
Up, up & away!
The flight was super smooth, no problem. I was thrilled to watch Hotel Transylvania 4 on my little screen & then Renfield. Dinner was actually really yummy- pasta bolongese with a pearl couscous & citrus salad. Who says airline food stinks? I thought it was great!
Luckily, I fell asleep for a while. Woke up to a sausage, egg & cheese sandwich & 45 minutes to go. Yeehaw!
When we landed, I was the only one who applauded. Hmf. I've been on more than 1 international flight where we all clapped when we landed. They deserve it! A long, successful journey across the pond-YES!
Going through security/border patrol was no problem. It's automated by scanning your passport & taking your photo. At baggage claim, I found myself waiting & waiting for my bag to come around. Pretty soon, everyone left & there were just 4 bags going round & round. Not mine! Oh Lord. There was a purple bag that was very similar to mine. Crap. I bet that person took my bag by mistake! Agh! How on earth was I going to get it back? I thought, they're not even going to realize it until they get home or to their hotel. Cripes. So I go to the help desk & the girl takes the remaining bags & my bag receipt. I was trying not to freak out too much. I asked if she could page this "Mary Roger". Maybe she was still in the airport. The girl makes a phone call, says my name & tells me, yes, the person realized it & was waiting at a booth. Oh thank goodness!! What a relief!! So I met her & she apologized multiple times. I told her she really made me sweat! Oh thank the Lord I have my stuff!
My bag!
Not my bag!
Look for me in the U!
Let the fun begin!
